there is no excuse for stealing
After receiving many negative comments and feedback from the previous post i notice that many are unwilling to learn, giving the lame usual excuse like no time, whole world using Microsoft, Linus is useless and so on.
Using Microsoft is not a sin but using the illegal version is wrong, it is consider as stealing. I need to admit that Microsoft Window is an operating system that is far more easier to use. Because it is easy to use, you need to pay more. The saying goes, you get what you pay. Thus, if you think that Window suite your needs, why not pay for a legal license?
In many cases, Window's user only know how to use back Window. Window user face many problem when they are force to perform on other operating system like Unix. Often OpenSource's user does not face much problem when they are require to do their work on other operating system like OS X, Unix, Linux, Solaris and Window. OpenSource's user get to learn how to be more flexible when it comes to end user software.
If you don't want to use a legal version of Window, why not change to an operating system that is cheaper or free? Learning is never a problem, don't give an excuse saying that you don't have time to learn. The problem is that from young our parents, school and society spoon feed us and teach us how to use Window only. They did not think that when we grow up we are unwilling to pay for one. So what many of us do is we STEAL. Its time to make a difference, either pay or use another operating system.
Some give the excuse sating that they do not have the money to buy a legal version. I must agree that majority are using Window but you can also make the difference. If the whole world using Window, why can't you use Linux? I'll tell u a story:
Once there was a man who is already retired. He can't afford to eat rice, he can only afford to eat porridge with more than half the content is water. He saw that many people are eating rice and he felt left out. He feels that even thought he can't afford to eat rice but he still should eat rice because the whole world is eating it. So what he did was he went to a rice shop and stole some grain so he could eat rice.
Now lets replace eat with use, rice with Window and porridge with free OpenSource, the story goes:
Once there was a man who is already retired. He can't afford to use Window, he can only afford to use Linux which is free. He saw that many people are using Window and he felt left out. He feels that even thought he can't afford to use Window but he still should use it because the whole world is using it. So what he did was he went to a shop selling Window OS and bought a illegal one so he could use it.
Based on the Bible, and i think almost all religion, we are not suppose to steal do matter what circumstances. Did the Bible say steal when you are force to. The answer is no, the Bible said “You shall not steal”. For this commandment there is “if”, and the penalty of sin is DEATH.
I hope after reading this post you would gain conscious and not steal and sin anymore. Either pay or change your operating system to a cheaper one. Both is better. Do drop a comment.
